This site exists to provide fast, not-garbage access to current and historical CenterPoint Houston-area power outage data.

This site aims to be available when CenterPoint's outage tracker is down.

Hosting is currently in Roost, Bissen, Luxembourg (which should be up if a lot of the internet in Texas is down).

Data is pulled from CenterPoint's public API.

Maps are provided by OpenStreetMap, and populated with CenterPoint's data.

Graph images are generated with pChart on the server and contain no personlly identifying information.

This site is open source with an MIT license [repo URL here]

We are committed to keeping as little information as possible about end users.

As such:

• No server logs. Like, at all.
• No server-side caching of anything but outage data.
• Without an account (accounts coming soon!), no personally identifying data is stored or used.
• Without an account, no cookies are used
• With an account, the following changes happen:
• Your email address is stored in encrypted format
• Your password is stored in hashed format
• Data source and user preferences are stored
• A single cookie with randomized data is used to associate your session with your account.
