Shop plans against your actual usage
Bring your own meter. We'll bring the plans. No account, no authorization, no enrollment. Your usage file stays in your browser — it is never uploaded, stored, or transmitted to PowerToFail or anywhere else.
1. Get your meter data from Smart Meter Texas
Log in at smartmetertexas.com, go to Data → Usage → Export, and download IntervalData.csv. It contains 13 months of 15-minute readings for your meter. That file is all we need.
Don't have a Smart Meter Texas account? Here's how to register.
Smart Meter Texas requires your ESI ID and Meter Number to create an account. Both are printed on your electricity bill:
- ESI ID — a 17-digit number starting with
10443720. Look for "ESI ID" or "ESID" on your bill, usually near your service address. - Meter Number — a shorter number identifying your physical meter. Often labeled "Meter #" or "Meter No." on your bill.
Can't find them? Call your current electricity provider — they can give you both over the phone. Once you have them, register at smartmetertexas.com and your usage data should be available within a day or two.
